With the aim of judging the creativity, originality and efficiency of coffee packaging currently available on the market, as well as strengthening the sector and directing attention to the importance of design in promoting the brand and the final product, the Espresso Design competition, Organized by Espresso in partnership with International Coffee Week, it is in its 5th edition. This time, the new feature is the award ceremony during the last day of SIC, including a trophy!
To participate, the packaging must exist as a product, and prototypes or future projects to be launched are not valid. Current packaging that is available on the market may compete. Packaging and/or limited collections that were produced in 2023 and no longer circulate on the market can also participate, as long as they prove circulation in 2023. Winning packaging or that were exhibited in previous years cannot participate. Packages sent in the last editions, but which were not classified, can register again.
After registering and sending the package, the contest is divided into two stages. The first consists of evaluation by the judging panel, made up of the Espresso team and guests. The criteria taken into consideration at this stage are: visual/identity, efficiency, concept, originality and creativity.
The 20 highest-scoring packages/collections will be exhibited during International Coffee Week 2023, which will take place between November 8th and 10th, in Belo Horizonte (MG). In this second stage, the public present will have the first two days of the event to choose and vote for their favorite packaging. Voting will take place on site. The three packages with the most votes will be announced on November 10th and will be awarded with the edition trophy and the seal corresponding to the placement!
