Bringing together the best coffees in Brazil
encouraging the development and improvement of national production
Created in 2012, the COFFEE OF THE YEAR aims to bring together the best coffees in Brazil and elect the highlights of the year, thus encouraging the development and improvement of national production and the dissemination of new coffee origins.
The contest has two phases. The first is to receive samples from producers throughout Brazil that are roasted and tasted by Q-Graders and R-Graders licensed by the CQI (Coffee Quality Institute). In the second phase, the best samples participate in the International Coffee Week and are tasted by buyers.
The 15 best classified samples will go to the final of the contest (10 samples of arabica, 5 of canephora) and will be tasted by the public. The revelation and awarding of the most scored and voted coffees will take place during the International Coffee Week in an awards ceremony, on the last day of the event. The contest is aimed at producers from all regions of Brazil. Participate and make your coffee stand out in the market!
